This is our story

My name is Eva, and since childhood, I've always wanted to have a dog.

I loved it when the neighbors' door opened and their dog ran into our apartment. I looked forward to every visit where they had a dog at home. I enjoyed walking around the training center and watching their training. I promised myself that one day I will fulfill my dream.

Years passed, and during my university studies in Prague, I lived in a shared apartment with a red-haired dog lady. She had a wonderful, kind nature, was a great companion, and I took her for walks, taught her tricks, and sometimes she even came to work with me. her history was quite unknown, but she most resembled a Toller in appearance and temperament.

When I first learned about the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever breed, or Toller for short, I was amazed at what these red-haired dogs could do. Through Instagram, I came across Veronika Marková and her kennel, Targaryen Fire. Veronika was active in canistherapy with her dogs, which fascinated me. It was incredible to watch how well-trained her pack was and their exhibition successes. I was sure that I want a Toller, and it will be from her kennel.

A few years later, I moved from Prague to a village in South Bohemia with my partner Michal and convinced him to get a dog together. We agreed that the Toller, with its size, intelligence, and active nature, was perfect for us, so we sent an email to Targaryen Fire kennel and waited for a miracle, which happened on November 7, 2020.

Cersei gave birth to seven puppies, and the blue boy named Iron Torch was chosen for us.

And so, my childhood dream became a reality.

At first, we had no specific plans how to direct the puppy.  We wanted to decide based on what he would enjoy and excel at.

Unfortunately, we didn't know that he would enjoy almost everything.

We started with basic obedience. We also taught Torch various tricks from an early age, which he enjoyed and entertained all visitors with funny show.

We attended several events organized by the Czech Toller Club where we could try many activities - dummy training, hunting disciplines, tolling, dog dancing or nosework and decide which activity would suit us best.

We enjoyed sports obedience and hunting training the most. Torch became a licensed hunting dog, and now we ended up competing in working tests.

Torch is our darling and a member of the family.
