Dog shows

Although we didn't initially plan on participating in shows, we have attended a few, and it paid off! Almost every time, we received an "Excellent" rating.

Torch has no problem with the show environment; he enjoys being in the ring and allows everything to be examined and checked. If only the waiting and posing weren't so long!

Torch earned the title of Czech Champion, and in Hungary, he achieved the title of Hungarian Show Champion.

In May 2023, Torch met the conditions for the Austrian Champion title.

In January 2024, he earned the title of Slovenian Champion, Slovenian Winner, and qualified for Crufts 2025.

Torch met the conditions for the title C.I.B. - International Beauty Champion.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Judges at shows particularly appreciate Torch's proportions and angulation, developed chest, correct ear set, well-carried tail, kind expression, correct distribution of white markings, coat quality, dynamic movement, and cheerful temperament.

Some judges criticized his delicate head when he was younger. As you can see in the photo gallery below, we lack a forward gaze for a beautiful show trot. Torch is trained to look at me during obedience, and I can't convince him to look straight ahead while running. Sometimes, the absence of a white tail tip cost us the victory.

Torch generally has more success with judges who prefer sporty, athletic types of Tollers.
